If I sample a loop into my Sp can I add effects while the sp is recording the sample or will I have to wait till after I saple something? I was wonderign because pretty soon I will have an mpc 1000 and I was gonna use my sp as a effects bord and sample everything I sample right thru the sp into my mpc....but is it actually possible to add effects to your sample while sampling?

Yep, the 303 can do it, too. You can only apply one effect at a time, though. That's true with the 404, as well.

Ok soo u can apply one effect at a time...But what about after u have the sample chopped and all that? Can u then apply more than ONE effect at that time?

nope, only one effect at a time. That's it. both, the 404 and 303 only have 1 effects processor.

If you add effects and then record your sample then the effect will be overdubbed onto the sample and free up the effects processor.

True that.

It is all about the Resample, I've found.

You can apply as many layers of effects as you want, you'll just have to do it one effect at a time. Apply delay, then resample, then you can add more delay, resample, then you can add distortion, resample, then add panning effects, resample... it can go on like this as long you want.

EDIT: "Resampling" is a function of the SP. It doesn't mean you're literally going through the process of sampling again. It's just the term used for the SP re-recording an internal sample with an effect applied.
