through an external effects unit, cause the sound to lose the "Sp 303" sound?

example if i have Vinyl Sim on my sounds inside the Sp 303 and I run the 303 through an external effects unit, will I lose any of the Vinyl Sim effect, (ie will it not sound as good)?

also sometimes you'll find that actually sampling something in with an effect on as opposed to just runnin sound through with the effect on has a slightly stronger effect on the sound, esp with vinyl sim and long mode in my opinion, so play with that when you get it and see what you like

depends on the fx you run the sound thru
if you use a good fx unit the sound remains good as it comes from the 303
the vinyl sim is a compression fx
so if you use and external delay the sound remains the same...
if you use a fuzz pedal or a distortion pedal the sound came out from it completely altered

Well the SP-303 sound is caused by a couple of things - the internal analogue to digital converters, the data compression algorithm it uses (I don't know much about this) and finally any effects you apply on the machine. Any signal running out of it will be affected by these things regardless of what you send it to next, so you won't lose any of the sound, it's not possible.

You certainly will change the sound if you send it to external effects, but then that's probably what you want anyway right? But no you won't actually lose any of the SP-303's characteristics.
