Hey y'all,

Just got a 303 last weekend. I'm excited about it! Coming from a 2000 XL, which
I still use, the 303 was fun from the first minutes on.
I love the effects and how you can tweak 'em. Also the more primitive way
of recording patterns pushes me to get creative.
I really like the 3 sample modes. Especially the "long" mode.
Only down side is it's storage options, and banks of samples. I'm used to
put 50+ beats on a single compact flash card using the MPC. Seems on the
SP that you're limited by the fact that you can only save 4 banks of samples.
Meaning, you'll probably have to record every beat straight after you made it,
or buy more cards, which I heard are expensive.

But all that is really a minor detail compared to the fun and sound of this
machine!

Maybe some of y'all could share some knowledge on workflow.
How do you guys save multiple beats. Is there another way to bypass
the SP's storage limitation?

Solow

I used to love my 303 til I copped the 505, it has all those features that the 303 is missing like lots of banks for samples, 4 track sequencer, LCD display, pitch, etc...
I only sample in Lo-Fi and the 32MB SM card allow me to save more time than the pads that I have to save my samples, sound it's the same as the 303 IMO (some people says it is almost the same tho) and efx and sequencer are good enough to be happy with this machine.
I can't complaint.

Yeah, I know what you mean but Boss did it that way so you can have more sample time. I think they expected us to resample alot.
